Refurbished machines from Apple are actually a very sound investment. They come with a full warranty just like a brand new machine and Apple puts them through the exact same tests as a brand new machine before they even offer them for sale - but they cost less.

Even better than Yojimbo is a program called Keep it Together (K.I.T.) It allows for any type of file to be added and organized with tags and more. Once again if you do a google search its fairly easy to find.

For your mouse buttons you may want to try a program called usb overdrive. If you do a google seach for it you can find it quicly. I would put in a link, but Newsvine still doesn't like me enough (even though I have been a user since the beta...)

Apple can still provide warranty support for hardware failure. All you have to do is load up a secondary HD with OSX to show that the problem is actually a HW problem. Or you can use the disks that come with the machine to run Diagnostics that will prove its a HW problem.

Why not just make a mix CD? Its not the time spent recording that matters - its the thought behind the chosen songs and how they go together. A mix tape never came with any album art or extra packaging - its the ultimate in origninal single-track purchasing.
